Water purification is a process of first removing physical particles such as sediments, rusts, dusts, sands, second to remove undesirable chemicals, materials and biological contaminants from raw water.

Reverse Osmosis Water:

Reverse osmosis is a similar treatment process to membrane filtration process. It works by using pressure to force water through a membrane, retaining the solute on one side and allowing the pure solvent to pass to the other side. This is the reverse of the normal osmosis process, which is the natural movement of solvent from an area of low solute concentration, through a membrane.

Household Reverse osmosis units use a lot of water because they have low back pressure. As a result, they recover only 5 to 15 percent of the water entering the system. The remainder is discharged as waste water.

Because waste water carries with it the rejected contaminants, methods to re-cover this water are not practical for household systems. Waste water is typically connected to the house drains and will add to the load on the household septic system. An RO unit delivering 5 gallons of treated water per day may discharge 40 to 90 gallons of waste water per day to the septic system.

1. The Goldfish in Pi Water
A container is filled with 3 liters of water. A goldfish is placed inside the container and sealed. How long can the goldfish survive without food or air?

The amount of oxygen in a 15°C water is 200cc. The amount of oxygen a goldfish needs in one hour is 5.8cc. 200 cc / 5.8cc = 34.48.

The goldfish dies in a day and half. However, when placed in high energy Pi Water, the goldfish lived 5 to 7 months.

2. Saltwater fish and coarse fish are placed in the same container

When saltwater fish is put in fresh water and coarse fish is put in sea water, the fishes will die in one hour. But,
when placed in a high energy Pi Water, both saltwater fish and coarse fish can survive and live together.

Ultraviolet (UV) Treated Water:

Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) is a disinfection method that uses ultraviolet (UV) light at sufficiently short wavelength to kill microorganisms. It is used in a variety of applications, such as food, air, and water purification. UVGI utilizes short-wavelength ultraviolet radiation (UV-C) that is harmful to microorganisms. It is effective in destroying the nucleic acids in these organisms so that their DNA is disrupted by the UV radiation, leaving them unable to perform vital cellular functions.

UV water treatment devices can be used for well water and surface water disinfection. UV treatment compares favorably with other water disinfection systems in terms of cost, labor, and the need for technically trained personnel for operation: deep tube wells fitted with hand pumps, while perhaps the simplest to operate, require expensive drilling rigs, are immobile sources, and often produce hard water that is found distasteful. UV treatment is rapid and, in terms of primary energy use, approximately 20,000 times more efficient than boiling.

UV system should not be operated as a system itself and must be combined together will a good pre filtration system in water purification as it is not a filtration system.
